From the start of my English learning, I had a tendency to focus on building up and maintaining my vocabulary. My first learning strategy (back in 199?, in primary school) were tiny little flashcards with the word in English and its pronunciation on one side and its translation on the other. It worked quite well. The only downside to it was the preparation which was VERY time consuming...
