Ancient Times



Then the advent of computers finally came (at least to the Czech Republic as we were falling a bit behind) which meant for me that I first came in contact with a second-hand PC made in a collective farm in Sluzovice (famous for being the showroom of Communism in my country).
If I remember well, it had a 386 or 486 CPU and had a couple of games and the MS Word loaded on its HDD... Despite its ugly look, it was a love at first sight. In my infatuation I just couldn't stop playing games which were mostly in English. Therefore in a few weeks of playing I picked up a lot of new vocabulary totally different from what we were taught at school... Needless to say that the teachings of Duke Nuken and Doom appealed to me much more than our elderly teacher's idea of English ...
